Neighborhood Review of River Heights Overlook, a Gated Community in Steiner Ranch

Although the UT Golf Club is the largest, more recognizable gated section in Steiner Ranch, it may surprise you to learn that there are a small handful of other gated communities scattered throughout Steiner Ranch, such as Santa Luz, Lakewood Hills, and River Heights Overlook.

Today, I am going to go into detail about why River Heights Overlook, one of the gated communities mentioned above, is one of my favorite sections in Steiner Ranch!

You enter the gates of River Heights Overlook after you pass the Towne Square community park, Laura Welch Bush Elementary and Canyon Ridge Middle School. And, it is the proximity to those Steiner Ranch landmarks that lands this section at the top of my “Best of Steiner Ranch” list.

Towne Square is an all-in-one community center that the Steiner residents visit frequently. Amenities include tennis courts, basketball court, swimming pools – including a shaded wade pool for the little ones, indoor/outdoor pavilion for parties and more, a great playground, and sport fields. On the weekends you can see soccer games going on or even the hub of a 5K event. Throughout the year, events like movies in the park and a Halloween Trunk or Treat take place at Towne Square. Towne Square is one of the central places in Steiner Ranch for events and to be so close, yet in a gated section, you are in one primo spot in the River Heights Overlook!

In Steiner Ranch, there are three elementary schools and one middle school. Depending on if you are the type of person who prefers to walk to school, you will love how River Heights Overlook is situated in walking distance to the awesome Laura Bush Elementary and Canyon Ridge Middle School (which are also oh-so-conveniently-located right across the street from one another!). That means you can spend all of your children’s pre-high-school-years conveniently right down the street if you live in River Heights Overlook. And, this is the only section this close by that is gated!

Neighborhood Review of Buckingham Ridge in South Austin

South Austin has remained a popular place for buyers over the last several years, and that popularity will likely remain forever.  If you are looking north of the 290 in south Austin, the latest statistics put the average sales price in the mid/high $400k range for a single family home. That prices out most first-time buyers and many others too.  However, if you go south of the 290, you can find a home still priced in the mid-$200s.

Our featured south Austin community is Buckingham Ridge – a small, non-HOA community nestled between South 1st and South Congress, with William Cannon at its north border.

Our buyers love this little community for two main reasons: its proximity to the hot spots on South 1st/South Congress and because they can still afford a home under the $250,000 range. As mentioned above, there is no monthly HOA fee, and in addition to that, the tax rate is a reasonable 2.46%.

Neighborhood Review of Meadows at Chandler Creek in Round Rock TX

Today we are writing a review on a mature neighborhood in Round Rock called Meadows at Chandler Creek.  We haven’t been out to this neighborhood in a while, but we were quickly reminded why this is one of Round Rock’s popular places to live.

Where is Meadows at Chandler Creek?

This community is located off of A.W. Grimes Blvd just north of Hwy 79.  Getting to and from this neighborhood is so much simpler now that the 45 Toll Road is completed.  If you’re coming into Round Rock from the north on the I-35, you’ll want to exit Old Settler’s Blvd and make a right onto A.W. Grimes Blvd.  The entrance to the community will be on your left.

Here are a few pictures of the neighborhood that we recently took.  Notice the impressive amenity center and HUGE park area that residents get the luxury of enjoying right near their homes!

Review of Meadows at Chandler Creek

I was blown away at just how beautiful and well-manicured the park areas are in Meadows at Chandler Creek.  The park consists of a sand volleyball court, a soccer field, a large covered pavilion, and multiple playground areas too.  It spans several acres and looks like a wonderful place to enjoy an afternoon with your friends and family.

The HOA maintains an amenity center that includes a community pool (with a gated entrance to ensure only residents can enter), several lighted tennis courts, and a covered pavilion area.

Aside from what’s going on inside the community, residents also can catch a baseball game at nearby Dell Diamond, have a great meal at the Salt Lick restaurant or Torchy’s Tacos.  There’s also an H-E-B and a Randall’s grocery store nearby too.

Schools nearby include Double File Trail Elementary, Robertson Elementary and Stepping Stone School for the youngsters.  PFC Robert P. Hernandez Middle School and Stony Point High School are also near the neighborhood for residents.

The amenity center pool was a popular place to hang out on the day we visited Meadows at Chandler Creek.  It looked like everyone was having a good time enjoy the warm Texas summer day.
