Where is Los Cielos?

Los Cielos is a neighborhood in Austin’s suburban town of Del Valle — located in close proximity to McKinney Falls State Park which offers camping, hiking, mountain biking, road biking, picknicking, fishing and wildlife observation. Swimming is also allowed in Onion Creek. McKinney Falls also offers screened shelters and group facilities along with an amphitheater. There is also a 500 year old, 103 foot tall Bald Cypress tree named ‘Old Baldy,’ which is one of the oldest trees on public land in Texas. It is open 7 days a week and year round.

Los Cielos is also a short drive from the Southeast Metro Park which boasts a 2 mile long concrete multi-use trail and a 3 mile primitive hiking trail.  There are plenty of other amenities these two parks offer, you can find more info at

The community of Los Cielos also offers a basketball court, playscape, a covered pavilion and a nature pond to name a few. There is also a Homeowner’s Association that takes care of these public areas for a nominal quarterly fee.
